A while back we wrote about how internship agencies work, but here’s what you need to know about how the placement process works and the time & effort agencies save you.
1. Apply
First, you apply and describe what kind of internship you want: positions, starting date, destination, budget, expectations, etc. Then, after uploading all your documents, we start making a match with possible companies that meet your expectations*.
This is a very extensive process since we need to find companies that have available vacancies that can match your desired start date, duration, location, etc. Once we’ve found the best companies for you, your CV and introductory video are shared directly with their HR departments and the departments you’d be working with. This requires a very extensive contact network that as an individual would be hard to obtain. Once the departments review your profile, they schedule the first interview with you.
2. Placement
Everything usually takes around 7 weeks, but it can take up to 12 weeks, or it can all happen in one week. Even after having one interview, your placement process may take more time, as there are companies that require 3 interviews, or have very specific HR operations. As an agency, we arrange all of these interviews and facilitate the exchange of paperwork between you and the company, making everything smoother for you.
3. Accept the offer
Once you have completed all the interviews and necessary procedures, the company that selects your profile will send you an offer through us. If you have any concerns about it, we can help you address them. Once you’ve accepted an offer, we will also facilitate the necessary documents for you to start your visa process, and we will assist you with any doubts you may have. After completing your visa process, the only thing that’s left is enjoying your time abroad while learning a bunch!
* We usually don’t work around one specific company because it’s highly inefficient since they can have some available vacancies but none that match your interests.
