Before I applied for my own internship in March 2011, I was in a very recognizable situation. I obtained good grades at university, lived in a buzzing city, was competitive in sports, and had a rich social life. Yes, you can say that I barely faced dull moments and most days I was walking around with a happy smile on my face. Still, I was missing ¨something¨.
I took some time to discover what that ¨something¨ would be. What could it be that I was missing in my in my early twenties without a lot to worry about? I realized that I had to step out of my comfort zone in order to discover how I could give the next boost to my life. It was no longer enough to only focus on the examples of the people around me and to walk the same roads. I was searching something different, and the only way to find that was to spread my wings and go my own path.
I started looking for the chance and explored brand new opportunities. A short time, I found myself on pristine Caribbean beaches, living in the heart of Cancún, and having an internship that has opened all doors ever since. I grew more as a person in half a year in a different culture, than ever before, and obtained new friends and experiences for a lifetime.
