Christmas abroad!
I really love traveling, I think it is a really cool way to get to know yourself and to gain a lot of new experiences. I went to New Zealand with my family, it was Christmas season and we were going to go on a road trip. Each two or three days we would change city; this was really nice since I got to see many different places. One of my favorite cities was Queenstown, it has a beautiful mountain that had amazing views of the city, plus the food was really good!
On the 24th we arrived at the Waitomo Caves, this is where we spent Christmas eve. Inside the Waitomo Caves live a type of insect called the Glow Worm. They glow in the dark because of a chemical reaction. It is beautiful seen since it looks like the cave is full of bright stars, it was one of the coolest things I have seen.
Then we went to the local supermarket and bought what the locals usually eat. In New Zealand, they really like to eat kangaroo and lamb so we bought some and went to our hotel to cook it. I had never tried kangaroo so it was interesting to try new things!
After x-mas abroad!
After this vacation I realized I really wanted to come back, so when I arrived to my house I started investigating how I could return. That is when I decided that I wanted to do my internship abroad. I really love the beach and hot weather, so I choose to go to Australia which is very close to New Zealand. I was very happy I took this decision but at the same time I, was a little bit scared since it was really far away from where I lived. For you to get an idea of how far, I had to take a nine-hour flight and then a twelve-hour flight to get there!
Once I got there I went straight to the beach, afterwards I went to my school so I could meet new people, this was really nice since once I meet people from all over the world we became really good friends and got to explore Australia and its culture in a very exciting way!
It was one of the best vacations I have ever had because if I hadn’t opened my eyes to New Zealand I would have never gone all the way to Australia which opens my eyes to the world!
Now that you know mine, what is the best Christmas you have ever had?
