Unless you want to get the internship of your dreams at an amazing destination abroad, and have a smooth & hassle-free process to get it, don’t trust an agency. Here are 3 differences between choosing an internship agency vs. getting your internship abroad on your own.

Don’t trust an agency because we know you want to spend a whole semester stressing over the company that hasn’t called for an interview, or over the other 30 that didn’t reply even though you added a cover letter!

However, if you’re part of that rare breed that wants to enjoy the weekends at a bar or at the movies, instead of crafting resumes because time’s running out, then choose an internship agency. With an agency, you submit your resume once and then wait for your offer. They will send it to dozens or even hundreds of companies that match your profile, and will notify you once a company has picked you.

Your dad sure knows someone at his office that can get you an internship, or maybe a friend of his can offer you to intern for their friend, so why trust an agency when you’ve already got something sort of secure close to home. An internship agency will only get you the doors open at top companies abroad. Some startups, sure, but startups that are at the level of transnational companies.

And in the case of the hospitality industry, we’re sure you can get yourself an interview at your favorite restaurant or hotel. I mean, who wants to work for the Ritz Carlton, St. Regis, or for Michelin-star restaurants abroad, right?

So, the last thing you’ve got to worry about is paperwork & support, which of course you’re able to handle. It’s not like governments don’t pay attention to people in their 20s or like companies don’t listen to the intern when there’s an issue, so why trust an agency to help you? If you have the ability to ask for help, the agency will assist you in your visa process and will give you support if there’s an issue with your internship at any time!
