2017 the Worldwide Internships Year!
Our organization started its transformation at the end of 2015 when our recruitment strategy changed from online to university recruitment. We moved our offices from Monterrey to Mexico City in order to have a closer relationship with key universities such as UDLAP, IBERO, ITESM, Tec Milenio and UVM. We signed agreements with all of them and just with these top partners we had the chance to recruit from over 70 campuses and be able to expose our programs to over 75,000 students. We took the risk and at the end of 2015, we opened our current office located in “Condesa” (a hipster neighborhood full of restaurants, parks, and alternative/creative/international companies).
Fortunately a year later all our efforts have paid off and we can say that 2016 has been a great year full of changes and has lead us to new challenges. Within this year, we grew our staff from 3 to over 14 team members, registered Worldwide Internships Ltd. in London, opened a new office in Barcelona and made the acquisition of our partner agency: www.internshipsthailand.com allowing us to have another office in Bangkok Thailand. All happened in a period of fewer than 12 months, it certainly took us a lot of efforts, headaches and required a lot of organization from the Team, but at the end, we nailed to change the life and career path of almost 400 students in 2016.
Our Team is prepared for the new challenges of 2017 aiming to find 1,000 internship opportunities for our future candidates. Having local operations in Europe and Asia will allow us to give local support to our program participants and also be closer to key partners such as Universities, Hotels, and Companies. We have built a multicultural team who altogether speaks English, Spanish, French, German, Swedish, Mandarin, Malay, Thai and Russian allowing us to help even more students and get open new opportunities.
It sounds like a dream for all our Team members, but we are proud of what we have achieved in 2016. While we grow as an organization, we want to keep our motto simple “We are here to help university students find a great work and cultural experience abroad”; and we want to have a lot of fun while doing so. 2017 will be a key year where we need to become a leading agency worldwide and establish strong operations in Europe and Asia. We are expecting the best, but we are also prepared for the worst.
